Retrieving Compound Identity Using LC-MS-MS

  This two-day course provides knowledge for structure elucidation of small molecules (drugs, pesticides, natural products, etc.) by combined liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (LC–MS–MS). We study the fragmentation of positively and negatively charged even-electron ions in MS–MS, and discuss identification strategies, both from data-acquisition and from data-processing point of view. Next to lectures and time for questions and discussion, the Course provides exercises in order to practice spectral interpretation.

Chemometric Techniques for Quantitative Analysis

  This course is designed to get the student quickly "up to speed" with the Multiple Linear Regressions and Factor-Based techniques used to produce quantitative calibrations from instrumental and other data: Classical Least-Squares (CLS), Inverse Least-Squares (ILS), Principle Component Regression (PCR) and Partial Least-Squares in latent variables (PLS). The emphasis will be on using actual and synthetic data to gain a practical understanding of the different techniques and their proper application. This short course is normally presented over 2 days. A 1-day version is also available, but we strongly recommend that you choose the 2-day version. The short course may be supplemented by additional workshop days during which the instructor works with your people on your actual applications and data.
